well it all depends on what kind of ladder you use if its is your old school wooden ladder of the new improved fiberglass lader. With fiberglass you have less of a chance of electric shock when changing a light bulb, as with your wooden ladder it is a strong conductor of eletctric currant and makes you suseptable to shock. A metal steepstool is just if not more as bad due to the fact that metal is more conductive. Your best bet if you want to change a light bulb is to practice the ancient art of Shaolin levitation and use this skill to float in air while changing the bulb so that if you do come in conntact with electricity you are not in direct conntact with the ground and there for are not a direct path for the electrical currant to pass threw you in to the earth and kill you. I myself use this method when changing a light bulb. Good Idea

actually wood is a conductor if the votage is strong enough. I know this beacuse I took a 10 hour OSHA course and part of the course has to do with electrical saftey. Also if some thing is electrified on the ground an area of ground 5 to 10 feet around the object may be electrified as well and can shock you. Good Idea

According to the International House of Pancakes, it is illegal to replace more than 875 household lightbulbs per year.
