Steam is still out of commission for me, late.

I'm not having any problems with steam so sorry but I can't help you.

I've had some trouble with steam, it takes 4 or 5 tries to connect to some servers.

Back them when you bought Half Life than installed the TFC mod, all you had to do is start TFC without any extra programs runing and than ingame u select servers and yada yada, and with steam you have to have steam on to play TFC, that should clear it up hopefully

All of what nirvana said is true, but I do remember back in the old days, all the Flush entity packets that occured. Whether that was because of my dial up, I will never know, but through the years, they did seem to dissapate, even with dial-up. Steam has quite honestly been a cancer on my computer, and I have tried all god damn day to get it to work. I guess the current status still stands as before which is this: Steam may or may not work at any given time, but it seems as though it has given out on me completely, and needless to say I am pissed off.

I stayed with WON untill the very last day. Yeah, STEAM is convinient in game-switching and patching and updates and DLing and preloading HL2 (even though my video card died like a week before release and my backup didnt come till like 3 days after), and my cl_flushentitypacket DID stop in CS once I went STEAM, I dunno. <3 WON. Although I rarely have the # of problems that many seem to. I guess I'm lucky. My sound never skipped in HL2 either.

But the fact that STEAM doesn't work right for LOTS of people is a problem. Despite all that, STEAM is great. FOR ME TO POOP ON.

the days when teleporters weren't there and adminOPs was non-exsistant.. and if you wanted to mod something, you had to back it up first..
