A hack I checked out once had anit-conc. When it was activated, you had no visual notice of this...and you only noticed it was on if you were conced.
Perhaps that's what happened.
Turning it on and off so many times in a short period of play...just doens't make much sense either. I understand your points...and they are valid.
I'm willing to give the "benefit of a doubt" approach to someone I've always felt was sincere with me. If you knew him as well as I do, perhaps you'd do the same. |
Some people who cheat don't leave it on the entire time. They simply toggle it on randomly to appear less suspicious. If you look at others, they have also toggled the cheat quite a few times per session. Take, for example, |3eeR|Snagg|_e when he used it versus my clan in a TFL match (-=[VOO]TFL Match Underway=- for anybody that wants to check out the excel sheet). The match only lasted 30 minutes (plus 1-5 minutes of prematch depending on when said player joined) but he still toggled the cheat 14 times.
I don't want to insult your support for him, but you do realize that the majority of people who are busted for hacking always have somebody who steps up and says "I know this guy and there is no way he cheats." Everybody has somebody who will stand up for them (unfortunately, sometimes these "friends" are league admins and they are not banned from STA/TFL)
The most glaring points against him I think are:
A) the amount of time he used the hack for and the number of servers. I'm sorry, but unless you are a complete and utter imbecile, you do not need 06:02:23 and 3 different servers to understand how a hack works. I don't see how anybody would use the cheat for that long simply for research purposes.
B) even if he was just testing it (which I don't believe), I would still ban him for the simple reason that he knowingingly and deliberately used a cheat against people who did not know he was using it. If he truly wanted to know how it worked, he could have found either a deserted/private server to use with a friend or created his own lan server with bots. People do not play online to go up against somebody who has an unfair advantage over them. |

I knew miles. If he hacked back then, then he is a hacker. But like gill said, until I hear an excuse from him, my opinion doesnt change. And even if he did tell me his excuse for hacking, my opinion wont change. |

How about tar and feather him, then excommunicate him while he has a crowbar shoved up his ass. |

why not tell anyone before hand then?
all it takes is informing an admin "hey, i just got this new hack, i'm gonna use it a couple times on x server so i know what to look for so i can admin better."
its those that say, what if they.... or maybe they were just... that get fooled 5x over, before they make the person an admin.
hackers prey on the gullable. |

i'm not specifically aiming this at miles, i ment my statement to be in general, i never talked to miles much in-game, and never out of game, so i won't judge his character, all i have are his actions.
its a shame to see such a skilled player have this attached to his name. |

He used it at multiple servers over a period of time..including Chips server. If he indeed was testing it seeing how he and chips were good buds he would have told chips and maybe shown the cfh admins as to educate.
If i was testing something it would happen once or twice in a priv server, this happened hundreds of times in various servers. |

From what I could tell, as a person Miles was a decent individual, helpful and friendly. Many of you also qualify for that description. I have seen a lot of people go bad, and it is a shame each time. There is no excuse for hacking on a server. |

All of you keep bringing up how I used it so many times in so many different servers and how I should have kept it in a private server . . like I did. I used it in a lan game against bots(Foxbot) and then thought I uninstalled it(removed all files that had been installed along with it). I thought it was uninstalled and I was obviously wrong. I still don't know if it is uninstalled but I did uninstall TFC+Steam and then reinstalled it. Last two times I played it didn't log me again so I am guessing its uninstalled now?
The reason I didn't post here is because no matter what I say to any of you, your still going to think what you want. When I do come in the server now its just to say hey and usually just watch whats going on, I really don't play TFC to much anymore so =/. |
