That's right... I'm getting bored trying to do a simple remake of Flagrun into HL2, and want some ideas from what others would like to see.
So far, it's very HL1-ish aside from textures, and scaling.
A simple HL1-esque port since GamePlay > Grapics?
A very long but good looking HL2 map since Graphics > GamePlay?
Lots of props?
More hallways?
More paths to flag tower?
New "type" of tower?
Relocation of Tower?
Any sort of "theme" for the textures?
Timers on door unlocks for tower?
Spy disguises while carrying flags?
A detpack area that will destroy a part of the map?
Give me your ideas. |

I like flagrun as it is. Assuming FF movement is the same relative to HL1, keep neut flag timers the same. IE: a good scout can go to nme base, grab flag, return it, and be in yard before neut flags available.
I don't really like messing with good things. I have a cementy texture set, so dustbowl isn't dusty (neither is palermo, flagrun, and other maps that use the sandy textures from tfc.wad) it's like cementy. I think maps look better, I think I'd prefer if it wasnt a desert theme. Maybe a bombed out city, urbanish, but like '40s.
That's probably just me looking forward to DoD:S though. |

put the neutral flags in the middle of the field instead of against the wall, and make their be 4 entrances to said flags |

I expect that since most of us expect this to be a direct port of tfc to the source engine...I'd personally like to see no changes whatsoever...jmo. |

put a 5 second timelimit when the flag drops on the flag for all teams. that'll spice things up |

ideas>
1: new detable entrance/tunnel to flagrooms from near middle of map(near broken wall).
2: make bases reverse mirror instead of mirror mirror, flag tower in middle of map.
3: boobs
4: grenade pit traps(dustbowl has them at cap3 ground sniper bunkers) at the edges of the flag rooms to make sentry guns harder to grenade.
5: to counterbalance the above, #1 above for escape. |
