I don't just think, I know....

Back in the early 80's Hospitals and the Millitary wanted a way to quickly share information hence the net was born. Back then there was no 'real' internet, but you could hook two computers to the phoneline, have one dial the other, and share information. They first hooked a mainframe to a fone line for information retrieval/storage. Two computers remotely dialing to this mainframe created the first internet.

In the late 80's/ early 90's Other companys felt that they could prosper from this 'net' that the Military and Hospitals were using, and these companys took the net public, and the internet age officially began.

Dr. Greaves at Cambridge U. in England is the father mordern DSL(not dial up!) and be on the lookout for the Embarq chip in six months which will warp-drive the current highspeed internet. This chip is being made by a company called Rim Semiconductor Company and it bends some laws of phisics. Their stock ticker symbol is RSMI.

If you don't belive me there are plenty of sites out there dedicated to the history of the net. Also you can research Dr. Greaves through Cambridge, U. England and RSMI by a simple search for Rim Semiconductor Co.

It would be funny to say Clinton started the net for pr0n, but alas, that is not the case.

I'm sure it did, but I am not 100% positive about my pre 80's net history. I have 'heard' that they were playing with the idea back in the 60's, but I am not sure how accurate that info is. It was still a non-public Military and Hospital thing by the early 80's and that I am sure of.

Stupid kids in their 70 year old mom's basement created it to PISS PEOPLE OFF! Pop-ups, viruses, jerks, broken links, and Stupid kids in their 70 year old mom's basement. It's as simple as that. Evil or Very Mad
Everything revolved around that. Confused

HAAHAHAHAHAHA
I think it was created so that people can talk and you don't have to hear or see each other doing "nothing" Rolling Eyes . Good Idea

I remeber back in the early 80's the dial up chat rooms and BBS's. The chat rooms were basically a pc with several multichannel modem cards that would allow around 12 people on line at a time and chat just like you do in mirc now. The BBS's were usually a single modem line. Man I miss the days of Trade Wars it made you use your imagination back then.

your all wrong, the internet was created because kids are annoying as hell sometimes, so by sitting their asses down, they get fatter. therefore, they cant move as much, and therefore, they dont want to do anything, and adults can just relax for a loooong time. stick that in your pipe and smoke it. = D = D = D
