so i installed hl2 (for the first time i might add) and goto register and it says... our cd key has already beeen registered.... SO. i dunno now... guess i gotta go fake buy a copy for a new key. |

did you install it on your old steam account? chick most stores wont let you return a game that has a cd key or most games that are opened. |

You should be able to retrieve you old account through steam with your username and password...that's all it should take. |

sooo i been trying to get this sto0pid thing to accept mi CD key... at first it said, it was already activated. now it says the key is invalid. im growing frustrated.....
we got the game at xmas. and it wouldnt run on old comp. got new comp yay. and now we cant get the gd thing to work... there is not a key gen available that im aware of. BAH! i say. if i installed the old HL and its cd's then update would that work? |

Yes...to get on to a TFC server. If you purchased HL2 and your cd key is being used, there's a place on the steam forums to post about that. IF you prove you own the game...someone stole your cd key. It may take some time, but they'll get to the bottom of it. |

just get a CD-Key, doesn't matter from where and use Half-Life CD Key Changer 3.0
After you change the cd key you should be able to play. If ya don't have any cd keys, there prolly lots of them on half-life webbys, it may be considered a lil unsafe to use a random cd key off the internet, but at least you'll be playing. |

key changer wasnt a key stealer??
i changed my keys w/ registry entries. |
