| So as a few of you will know, 25 years ago on dec 8, John Lennon was shot dead by a crazed individual... i was just wondering where everybody was on that day? were you not yet born? what were you doing? |

I was 2, that is about the time my mom left my biological father in Illinois and we moved to Florida. stayed there untill I was around 3 my mom met my the man I consider my father now and we all moved back here in Tennessee were he was originaly from.  bet that was more than you wanted too know  |

I was 11-1/2 years old and remember when Cronkite came on and announced it. Was very shocking to hear at the time.
My 2 older brothers and I were probably tearing the corners off the Chritmas present to see if we could determine what we were getting, or ripping the wrapping paper on the underside of the presents just to see... We were EVIL at Christmas...  |

I was 25 and had just started my career on Wall St. It was a long day...Monday's always are. I actually didn't hear about it till the following morning. I was so tired that night...I went to bed early.
I...having grown up on The Beatles...was very saddened. If you lived in that time...you would know Lennon was considered a "prophet" of the times. He influenced many...especially the young of that generation. His staunch anit-war stand...even back in the 70's, helped fuel the sentiment that led to the end of America's participation in the Vietnam war.
His life...his writings...almost always centered around "make love, not war"... and Let It Be.
Happy 25th anniversary in heaven...JL. |
