Well, I know this could easily be debated until the end of time....but I just dont understand why people have a problem with snipers. I mean I guess you could say everyone has a problem with one class or another, even me, but in the end, I think they all serve their purpose.
I can't tell you how many times I have been sniping, and a soldier will rocket jump up to the deck I am sniping from, and from behind shoot a rocket at my feet so that I go flying into the air. Nine times out of ten I am dead before I hit the ground, and If I'm not, they shoot another one at me AS i'm hitting the ground, and in that split second that I am in the air, there is no time to swtich to AR (which I avoid anyway) and even if there is, you are dead before you can get a lock on 'im.
Fair? Dont thnk so. But I never biatch about it in game, because thats just one of the +'s about being a solly. Just like having a powerful gun that has the ability to kill someone with skillfully placed shot to the head is a plus for a sniper. But thats about all they got. No health or armor to speak of.. just a powerful gun that only comes in handy if you know how to use it. Soldiers on the other hand have a Sh#tload of heallth/armor, and a pretty devastating RL.
I'm not sure if I would go so far as to say the classes are well balanced, but the sniper is by FAR not the most powerful class, they are only useful when someone is good with them. (which is pretty much the case for all classes) So why the hate? SNIPER LOVE!!!!

| I agree with Velvet, snipers are in the game because they have a purpose. So do their weapons. There is nothing wrong with the AR. Yes changing the fov is annoying, but valve wouldnt have put it their if they didnt think they needed it. So my point is, saying the sniper is cheap or dumb, is like saying the soldier is cheap or dumb. And what would we do without the soldier? |
