| Don't know really? What's a HH script.... maybe a script with a number cout down or something. Jusy wondered how many ppl use them really. |

I dont use them.
an hh script would prime the conc hold onto it then once its about to explode it would jump thus hand helding.
concing is pretty cimple once you get used to it |

When I used to play, I never really spent time practising it, but it seems to have become essential in today’s modern game. I might spend a few hours on a conc map to sort my self out...  |

It's easy. No scripts needed. Actually, 2fort is a good map to learn on. Just create a lan server with no bots. Jump in the water, drop conc, and swim up right before it goes off. Same with the elevator.....try it there, and on the bridge. try it everywhere. It'll be good for getting the basics down.....then you can try a conc-map. |

| I have Heard of someone using a countdown in replace of the beeps. I think It said some thing like One..Two..Three..JUMP! or some thing like that. Im not sure of this I could be imagining it. |

Before two months ago, I never knew what a script was. Now that I do, its seems tempting, but I think I want to learn how to do it the hard way. Much more rewarding for me personally. I struggle with conc jumping. But I'll get it down eventually.  |

Scripting makes things easier, quicker and less complex than default. There are some threads here with some really good scripts in them...that even the best players use. Scripting is a powerful thing built into the game...and it was meant to take advantage of.
Velvet...a few of us got you through a couple of conc maps a couple of weeks ago. You said those were the first you had ever finished. So if you can learn some of the basics that quickly and finish a few maps...you're well on your way. You only invested a couple of hour of time...and you did quite well. A few hours now and then...and you'll be surprised how it helps your game.
There ARE conc scripts out there. But they are pretty much useless...lemme explain. Concing is different on EVER SINGLE SERVER out there...because of your latency. Concing at a high latency vs a low latency are two different worlds. Because of the "lag" everything happens at a different split second...the timing is "slightly" different in each of these environments. Conc scripts contain "wait" commands that basically tells the game how long to wait to execute the next part of the script. Due to latency issues...these wait command can be too short...or too long...and not compatible to the latency you're playing at. It is possible to play only on servers where you get 50-60 ping...and tweak one of these scripts to that latency. But...it's just far better to learn the mechanics, timing and purpose of each type of jump...single, double..etc. A few hours is all it takes to learning the very basics...and you'll be psyched to move on from there once you have. |
