GameSpot had a live feed of the Sony conference, for all free and for subscribers (subscribers had better quality though).

And yes, it seems Sony is returning to the original PS1/2 controller, but they would've had to get a different vibration feature; as the Dual Shock vibration feature is patented by another company that used to be a partner of Sony.

They showed off:
-Some more PSP features to come.
-Some PSP/PS3 connectivity features.
-PS3 User Interface.
-Actual PS3 gameplay (unlike last year)
-Some rehashes of old games on PS3 and PSP.
-Some eye toy PS3 features
-Reshowed the PS3 specs & announced worldwide release in November 2006.

I could find the details in minutes (assuming they've been announced), but for everyone's sake, would you mind posting the details for the two PS3 packages? The expensive one is $100 less than I thought it would be.

I've always wanted to go an E3 event. I was an unpaid intern at a local company (Buzz Monkey. They made the PSP port of TR7. Get it when it comes out) but that ended in April. Plus I don't live in Cali, and I doubt an intern could get in. I almost attended UAT solely for their student E3 trips, but I decided against it. E3 is always huge and I love following it. Also quite interesting is the GDC that happened about a month ago.

The only difference in packages, is hard drive size; that's the reason why my information was so vague.

You get the console, a controller, all the wires, and a demo disk like the PS1 and PS2 recieved; and all PS3's will come with at LEAST 20GB HDDs (package 1).

no, that is not the only difference, you get the smaller hard drive size, no wi-fi, no hdmi and no memory cards/sticks.

(for proof of no hdmi, look at the outputs on the 20gb version compared to the 60gb)

will the demo disks be like the holiday 05 ones and corrupt a whole memory card?

since it hasn't been said yet, the PS3 controller will have some sort of Wii-esque motion sensor technology. A rip-off of the Wii-mote, I suppose, but Sony's never been known for innovation. Honestly, I don't care if its a rip-off. It's a good technology, and adds depth and FUN to many games. That's what its all about. They're copying a GOOD technology. If anything special gets kept exclusive, it gets less use.
