I wanted to post those lyrics. They have taken on a new meaning for me today. Love is undying...unfortunately, Rose isn't. We went to see her doctor today. He dropped the bomb on us, that she has only months at best, to live. She had been bloating from fluid in her abdomen lately, they drained it, and sent it to a lab. In the lab, they basicly grew a clone of her tumor, and hit it with everything they had. Nothing worked to kill it. She has been placed on "Home Hospice", which means she can stay here and receive enough meds to keep her out of pain. She asked the doctor how much time she had, he replied "A month". He went on to say, that if she's lucky, 3 months at the most.
She was last drained tuesday, and she's scheduled for another draining tomorrow. It helps relieve her discomfort, but doesn't take away her pain. The meds take away her pain, but don't relieve her of the discomfort.
She'll be under my care, as well as from a home hospice company. The people at the hospital tell us that they are very good at what they do. They have people on call 24/7 for emergencies.
I know I don't get along with all of you, but please pray for her. We are both hoping to be married before she dies. There is a complication with it(which I won't go into)....but please ask for this one thing to be granted, our time is running out.

the mean: may i be the a-hole here and say it may be cute to marry before she dies but i think that its dumb.
the silly: i could try to make a map for rose but it would end up looking like a tumor.. whatever it may look like.
the redundantly unuplifting: the doctor may rediagnose it as EDS (eventual death syndrome).

| I thank all of your for your thoughts, and prayers. I know I'm not very well known here, but I wanted you all to know the main reason I haven't been playing as much lately. It isn't that I don't want to, but I am pretty much the only person in the house at this point, capable of doing what needs to be done. Rose and I live in my grandmother's house(she raised me, both of my parents are dead...my father died when I was 14 months old, and my biological mother was a drug addict, and took off.) My grandmother will be 85 this year, and I'm busting my a$$ to take care of things around here. Rose's family will be coming from Germany sometime in the next couple of weeks, and thier homes are immaculate. Despite how tired I am, I need to make the house presentable. It's something we've been neglecting, given her condition and needs, along with my grandmothers. I'm also trying to deal with the emotional turmoil of watching my soul-mate dying, while dealing with all the stuff that needs to get done. Everyone who knows us personally says I'm doing a good job, but I have my doubts. I honestly think I'm putting off having my breakdown until after the inevitable. I have to be strong...no matter the cost. |
