ringing in my ears from seeing:
AlterEgo (local punk band, they kinda suck)
FarCry (acoustic set, their drummer got a collapsed lung yesterday and they still wanted to play somehow)
tv:616 (this was their last show ever. great band, kind of reminded me of early NIN)
Northwest Royale (kicks as much ass as ever)
Schoolyard Heros (meh)
Voux (coo)
That1Guy and his magic pipe (holy hell this was amazing. The.... thing he played was so cool and it was well done and wow)
Supersuckers (also kickass)
Rock N' Roll Soldiers (meh)
Ron Jeremy (told a few jokes and talked some. he's so sexy)
Presidents of the United States of America (absolutely amazing band live. like omfg wow)
Everclear (classic band. ended it covering Tommy Tutone's Jenny with about 40 girls dancing on stage with them) |
man, you get the good bands. the only people we get here are Fallout Boy, Hawthorne Heights, and korn. yellowcard is coming in the summer, but still...meh... actually, about 3 years ago, Linkin Park came with Mud Vayne and Cold. that was a great show.
the sound of birds chirping at 9 in the morning.. wtf, why am i on this computer?! |

I'm actually amazed, Eugene never gets bands like that.
We got In Flames, Throwdown, Nevermore and Evergrey a few weeks ago, and that was great. Opeth was here a few months ago, tragically missed that one. There's usually like one/two great shows a year here, for any consistency I'd have to go to Portland or Salem or something. A few years ago I saw: Northwest Royale, Ill Nino, Adema, m***********g DOWN, Rob Zombie and more here, but a show of that caliber still hasn't come back. Some other big bands are coming that I hate, like Death Cab For Cutie, but oh well. We have a huge outdoor ampitheatre here, and it would be amazing to see a legendary band like Motorhead or something, but I know I'd have to travel for them.

Band: Bad Brains
Song: At The Movies
Album: Banned In D.C. : Bad Brains Greatests Riffs.
Pick this album up if you listen to any thing music related nowadays. These guys are the originators of all the music out now, well except for that crap that now calls Victory Records home. |
