you need guild wars to be able to use guild wars factions.
so get just gw or get both. |

neg. as far as i know factions is able to be a "stand alone" game..
as for differences...regular gw would be better to get the whole storyline, although factions has a seperate storyline, it's just easier to understand, IMO...if you played regular gw |

Guild Wars: Factions, does NOT require Guild Wars.
They are two seperate games, but they are both online on the same servers. So, a person who has Guild Wars, but not Guild Wars: Factions can group and PvP against people with Factions, but they cannot become a Factions class.
For the most part, the stories are different and I suggest starting with normal Guild Wars; as well as the two new classes as well. |

I have a question.
Why are there so many Everquest rip-offs these days?
"OMG I'm a level 89 Elf Necromancer with 80 mana points and 97 health points, who weilds the staff of Dorma, with +7 attack points... I will own you feeble humans *stupid laugh*"
Now, I'm not saying that you guys are nerds, but
STOP WITH THE RIP-OFFS!!!!!!!
geez, that's why I like Auto Assault |

Everquest probably ripped off of something else anyway.
TFC is one of the few games in my eyes, anyway. |

I just thought i'd add, its the Dragon Celebration in Cantha today for those that have factions. Its FUN! The Dragon Arena has a version of dodgeball that is HILARIOUS and awesome at the same time. It will be up until july 5th! have fun with it! |

Fixed, so now you have an answer to your own question. |
If we're gonna say using any idea that anyone else has used before even once is ripping them off, then why are there so many rip-offs of Norse mythology and the Eddas? |

Because they ripped off pre-written stories before them. And so on and so forth.
Point being to StaR and everyone else; if you don't like the fantasy genre, then don't play the games. Get over it. |
