Since there hasn't been a thread about it, here it is.
RIP E3. |

They are only downsizing it to save costs on booths and crap. It costs some of the bigger exhibitors upwards of $12 million for the floorspace for their booth alone. Considering that price isn't part of the actual planning and construction of the booth, that's quite a bit of a tax on developers and publishers; especially when there's no income at all from E3, except maybe media coverage that makes the income (i.e.: ratings). We'll still get our old fashioned video game media goodness that we've always seen, just no booths or booth babes. |

SO it might as well be dead.
E3 used to be the biggest F-in ting the world had to offer.
Now it'll be nothing of it's former way.
Booths and the women was a major sales point, that's what made it great.
NOW IT'S GONE!
I never had a chance to actually go... |

this is gonna be one of the biggest mistakes for the videogaming industry. geeks don't belong in an intimate atmosphere. in fact 'geek' and 'intimate' shouldn't even be in the same sentence together! |
