someone changed my name and i cant get it back to [cfh]ghost53
it just saids yourname when i log on Question

what do i do and how can i keep it from changing Surprised

please help iam the ghost not yourname

weird. ghost theres 2 ways to do that. heres one way. on your tfc screen click the options button. and on the very first page, theres a place for your name and you can change it there.

another way is while youre in game(you can do it or even out of game too), click the ` button to open up your console. then type. name "-[CfH]-ghost53". and type it exactly like that(unless you want to add more to your name, in which case go right on ahead). the " " arent necessary unless theres a space in your name, but use them anyways just cause.

If you still have trouble with it you could ask an admin in game to change it back for you. Admins can make you do anything you could do on your own with the rcon_execclient command, like changing your name controls.

Make sure that your config file isn't write protected. Don't ask me why that came to mind...but check it anyhow.

Iggy is right, Ghost. In your Windows explorer, look for this file.....
c:/STEAM/SteamApps/yourname.com/team fortress classic/tfc/config

Right click on it AFTER you change your name to what you want it to be..... then after you RIGHT CLICK, choose PROPERTIES, then make sure to click on READ ONLY. Then hit APPLY and OK, and even if someone changes it on your computer through the game, the next time you restart STEAM, it will go back to the way you had it.
