well as i just said in the 2006 NFL Season thread, RB Shaun Alexander of the Seattle Seahawks has just fell victum to the Madden Curse and for u people who dont kno what the Madden curse is, it's whoever is on the cover of the NFL Madden game either gets injured, misses a nice sized or a portion of the season, or has one of or the worst season (s) of their career...i've always been a lil believer of this curse but now i'm 100% certain it is a curse lol...its been going back since 2001 and if ya dont believe me, here's the guys that were on the cover each year and what happened to them:
2001: RB Eddie George, he had his worst season ever (besides his last one w/ the Boys). After 5 straight 1300+ yard seasons (except 1, he had like 1290) he had 939 yds, avg 3.0 ypc, and only 5 TDs, plus he had 8 fumbles, which is his most ever for a single season...his previous season he has 1500+ yds, 3.7 ypc, 14 TDs.
2002: QB Daunte Culpepper, one of or his worst season ever, only 18 TDs (2nd lowest ever for him), 23 INTs (most ever in a season for him), sacked 47 times (most ever...), 21 fumbles (most ever...), QB rating of 75.3 (worst ever...).
2003: RB Marshall Faulk, got injured and played in only 11 games (fewest ever...) and had his 3rd worst rushing season ever in his 11 yr career.
2004: QB Mike Vick, Vick basically escaped it, but he felt the curse a lil lol...he got sacked 46 times (most ever...) and 17 fumbles (most ever...)
2005: MLB Ray Lewis, got injured and missed good portion of the season, he only played in 6 games for them in 2005, and his team was crap.
2006: QB Donovan McNabb, got injured and was playin w/ all kinds of injuries all for the first half of the season and then basically called it quits for the rest of the season. He had all the crap going on w/ him w/ T.O. and the Eagles finished dead last in the division after finishing first like 5 seasons in a row before that.
2007: RB Shaun Alexander, currently this season is now injured and out indefinitely w/ a broken foot after being the MVP last season and breaking the single season rushing TDs record, i think he had 30 TDs if i'm not mistaken. So now Alexander falls victum to the Madden curse...
Freaky aint it..? |

Madden has been around longer than the "curse." Try since the 90s. And yeah, John Madden was on the cover, but nothing ever happened to him. Anyway, if you're stupid enough to believe in curses, you should be classified as mentally retarded. No curse is real, no superstition is real. |

I'm actually Roman Catholic. You can be religious and not believe in curses. You're so ignorant Falcon |

I seriously doubt that's where you'll end up.
The rest of you...chill out. Plz adhere to the old saying "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything". |

may i just say first off, that ^ right there explains a majority of our society.
secondly, not every person on the madden game got "cursed" because there's no such thing. if you believe you are larger than life, and can't be touched then you're doomed. ever watch the movie "Friday Night Lights"? perfect example, built a high school football team around the all-star running back and he gets hurt, then you're screwed |

Falcon you forgot Barry Sanders on the cover in 2000, and then showing up to training camp just before announcing his retirement unexpededly. |

Also in 2001, Eddie George did not get injured, he just had a turnover in the playoffs. In 2003, Marshall Faulk sprained his ankle and never got 1000 yds. In these 2 and in the one CC posted, there is no "curse" evident. So therefore, you lose. |
