www.history.com/shootout
I guess this could go in other steam games since it seems to use steam to play, but Iwo Jima is f*ing hard, I can't get too far into it because I keep dying. So try it out and see how you like it, I think it's pretty good for being something the History Channel just popped out. |

Iwo Jima was a tough fight for the Marines.
The landing was like climbing up a mesa, with MG nests spraying constant fire upon you, even before the landing.
Not only that, but the only quick way to get to the flat top, it by climbing up by hook and rope.
And there's a practical fortress on top.
FYI for you non-history knowers.
BTW, I love Shootout.
I just wish I had the History Channel.
I liked the one W/ the Marines and the 2 Snipers. |

Finished it.
It almosted seemed like something form the origional HL.
This is the Source Engine, poorly utilized. Not only that, but I also saw MANY historical innacuracies.
-That 30. Cal didn't have chain-links
-It looked like the South Coast beach head, since it was an actual beach. At the time of clearing the beach-ridge, Why is there an established supply point?
-Suppose to be Overcast, no sun.
-Japanese are wearing GI uniforms.
-The walking-Heavy Automatic machinegun was only a thought concept. NEVER FULLY WORKED. Too heavy, and many broke arms and ribs during tests. Like the recoil in DoD:S
THAT was the biggest one for me. Only the M249 was the only Walk-and-Spray. M60 was sometimes used, but never accomplished.
Oh well. It was free, but I expected more form the History Channel |
