Okay i have been playin TFC for about 9 months....(NooB) And still dont think i have all the possible consol commands that might help me out.
So far I use:
Def_fov 110..........Thats were I like it.
Rate "200000"
Fps_max 100
If theres anything eles I can tweek please help.
Ohh ya i also only have a nividia geforce 2 4800 TI if theres anything I can tweek with that, would be appreciated.

These setting will lower game sounds so you can hear voice commands better. Of course, this is up to user preference:

Tweak and play with these setting till you get a result "you" like. This is simply what I use. This goes in your userconfig.cfg or autoexec.cfg.
Using a rate of 20,000 is useless on most servers. The average server is set at around 10,000. Our pub is set at 9,000. Matching the servers rate instead of exceeding it...will give you optimal performance. If your tfc is asking for more than the server is supplying...that "can" be a problem.
If you're into playing HW...these can be helpful.

So, are you mostly interested in settings commands but not actions and scripts? Cause there are a some useful scripts out there ...
Personally I really like some small "combining scripts", like making TAB show both scores and timeleft, and making some key do both +use and flaginfo. |

Why not just play by defaults,
Oh, BTW: Bent, you seriously need to upgrade your Vid-card.
That thing is so old, you would be better off eating it then using it.
Get something new, something at least in the FX series. |

Anyway, if you're not exactly sure of what you're doing, DON'T mess with the rates and whatnot. If you screw up, TFC'll be dang near unplayable. At the very least, write down the default settings for them, so that if you do screw up, you can change it back easily enough. |

The single most worthwhile thing I did was to upgrade the crosshairs. I did a simple install of a single crosshair for all weapons and now I wonder how I put up with the lousy default crosshair for so long.
How to and crosshairs can be had at http://www.ticclan.com/tutorials/crosshairs-sprites.html#installcrosshairs I used the 24x24 "Small #2", which is a bright green X with a small red dot at the center. You just drop it into tfc/sprites AFTER backing up your old crosshair file. (crosshairs.spr) |
