well I'll admit I have not took the time to look on the interweb to see if there is indeed a problem, because frankly I dont care about PS3 but.....
The display at my store, the display at 2 other Walmarts, 2 diffrent gamestops, AND 1 target (all that I have seen first hand) are ALL having problems with thier PS3s freezing up and cutting off.
PS3 FTL!! WOOT!!11one
do your self a favor buy this instead...
had mine since a month after launch and NO problems.. |

Didn't a bunch of people with 360s have overheating issues?
And some Wiis are getting errors too. (Also, the Wiimote straps apparently suck)
All the new consoles have errors. Protip: Don't buy at launch. |

That's a smart tip for buyers.
Always wait past the Alpha launch
Wait for a renewed version.
But all 3 of the consoles have/had problems.
I'm not surprised, they were rushed.
The PS3 is truely no surprise though.
Sony may go bankrupt. |

very, very, very doubtful. it'd take much more than a huge failure on the PS3 to bankrupt a big company like that. |

I can't remember a launch of a console system that didn't have "some" problems. I have also read that the PS3 can't play around 200 games previously issued...it was supposed to be able to play "all" previously released games for the PS1 and PS2. This of course, will be fixed with some future software update.
Issues with hardware are another matter. If that's the cause of these freezes, this could be very expensive for Sony. They also recently took a huge hit with the laptop battery fiasco...that's gonna cost them a fortune also.
Bankrupt....certainly not. Severely cash choked....most definitely. |

yes but I think the actual % in total was only like 5-8% of consoles in hundreds of thousands sold....Also the majority of those consoles were the ones that were won by people in the big <Every Ten Mins> contest by Mt Dew.
Those consoles were bought by them with the warning that they had not been tested to 100% so that was kinda a "Shame on you" thing with pepsico. |

the Wiimote strap is just fine. i abuse mine every day, i switched it w/ my cellphone strap so i have the wii strap on my phone... i swing it all over the place and no problem.
its made just like any other cheap-bust-still-sturdy cellphone strap out there.
those who report breaking the strap i think are really cutting it, if you look at the pictures you can see that a well worn cell strap does not look like it was CUT. |

True but the only one who didn't rush was nintendo and the wii hasn't had too many errors but yeah thats why i always wait a while after a new console comes out. |

HA!
I would too, if I didn't already have one.
360 for me, it'll last me till MSG4, and then I'll get my Halo 3 Legendary. |
