| i wanna put together a CfH video, all of the leetst things about us, only i have no clue as to how to recodrd demos, and watch / edit / do stuff fwith them later, i have edited videos before but never for tfc, any clues as to how to start, or how to get 3rd person demos? |

this is very bad, your supposed to be recording demos for CTF when you play.
record demoname
in console.
someone more experienced can tell u the rest of the stuff |

| 3rd person demos can be accomplished by use of HLTV or someone in spectator watching people and recording a demo. |

We don't have any tutorials on avi's here in these forums...however, numerous ones exist around the net. I remember Chaos saying there was a pretty good one on the Catacombs.
I know how to do them...soup to nuts...but, it's just too much to start with here. There are some pointers here and there on our fourms...but if you've never done one before, they won't be much help. Check out some of the many existing tutorials and if you have any "specific" questions...there are many here that I'm sure can help.  |

i used a program called Fraps to record actual videos while in game or in demos. |

yea, you need enough hard drive space. also after several fraps vids i want to combine, i use Windows movie maker and convert to a WMV that uses less space, or even then now you can easily upload to youtube(after splicing your vid together w/ movie maker). |

I happen to know a simple script that makes Steam record every game you play.
userconfig.cfg

This will create 0.dem, 1.dem, ... your tfc folder.
Of course, if you play more than 10 games in a row or when you restart TFC the old demos will be overwriten. So if you feel that some particular game deserve saving, better rename it, to something like 2006.12.15.CfH.ksour.played.D.HWG.kicked.everybody.asses.dem ;) |

I have filled up my hard drive more times than I like to count recording using fraps. |

i use fraps too it a good program to record the game with sound and know one knows your useing it so if you record someone cheating they will never know till its too late,you can down load it at
frags.com if you cant find i can email it to you i have it on a zip file  |

Due to some ...shall we say.... BS bans on Drippy's, I record demos of each and every game I play.
The name format I use is this:
Server name abreviated(d2f or cfh, etc...)
Date (121606)
Match # (-1, -2, -3, etc...)
Looks like this: cfh121606-1
If I need to show something to someone in it, I make a note of which demo, and roughly the time of the match.
Aside from protecting myself...you never know when someone(myself or someone else) will pull off a fantastic play. And you just can't duplicate it. |
