I know I haven't been here very long, and by far most people dont even know who I am, but I need to say this. I hope Im not alone........

CHIP"S.... "Eric".... dedicates so much of his time and money to keep this server alive. I dont know if most are aware that Chips had to invest several if not thousands of dollars upgrading his PC's to even run a good server. I dont think people are aware of how much time he has spent readind up on improving the server, mods and downloading who knows how many maps, just for us. What I'm getting at is this. Everyone has to pay for internet acess, and we consider it a utility. How ever Chips has to pay for the internet as well as for the server. he does not charge us for it and pays out of pocket. Servers are not exactly the cheapest service out there. By far..... more expensive than your inernet service. Look.... not everyone can afford to donate money to the server. By far Im not the richest person on earth, but have donated money in the past, and intend to before the holidays. We need to keep this server alive, and those who can spare please think about the small investment we share for such a fun resource.

i argee and belive me if i could i would but iam
not working i live on food stamps,hopefuly soon
i will be able to get a job but i have to wate till my bother pays off his truck so i can get back my
motor cycle than i can look for and when i get a job i plain on giveing some mony to chips for the sever because i think its the best sever out here Crying or Very sad

those that can't for whatever reason need not worry.
and the server isn't being run of chips computers... however he does spend quite a bit of time making sure they are running right, something i'm sure we are all appreciative of.
another thing to consider: how many hours a week do you spend on the server? divide that by 2, then multiply by ~$5.00 to be nice. If you had spent all that time watching movies, this is about how much you'd have payed a week. So say you spend 10 hours a week(thats undercutting it for alot), thats ~$25.00 a week, or ~$1,300 a year. And these are low numbers.

well if i remember correctly i think chips said that it costs $40 a month to keep the server up and running, so for anyone that doesnt know, thats how much it costs per month.

Also, how are we doing chips...financially speaking i mean..? If u dont mind me asking Embarassed

Seriously though, we're paid up through December and I'm about to send out a payment to the server owner to pay us through next March. After that...I'll have $37.22 left in my paypal account. Sad

So, we're good for several more months but are in need of some help after that. I said it before in another thread...but all donations go exclusively to the server costs. I don't use the paypal account on our web site for my personal use. Costs include the monthly server fee, web hosting for our forums, web site and fast downloads for the maps along with yearly domain name registration. We had some nice donations come in last August when we last asked for assistance. But that's exactly when the yearly web hosting and domain name registrations were due...ate up a good chunk of those donations.

The first seven months this server was in operation was on my home computer believe it or not. The old timers will remember that. We were lucky enough to have had a couple of free hosts after that...Milton the crackhead for those of you who remember him. Then CC's friend Pat hosted us for quite a while for free also. Pat runs a server company and offered us an exclusive spot on a new server he purchased that he pretty much uses for late night FTP backups...that's it. He's also given me full access to the machine...something that no gaming host would ever do...all for a very reasonable price.

I really didn't want to hit anyone up for a donation at this time of year...I know I'm broke and I assumed most of you were also. Laughing

But since someone else brought up the subject...I can't say a donation of whatever you can afford would be a bad thing. Tis the season of giving. Wink
