Be careful, guys. There's not much that can be done with a CCN alone, but it's still something to be wary of. |

Some group called No-Steam hacked into Valve's stuff and has all of their assets. |

Well, I hope they like jail, cause that's where they're headed. |

Class action law suit?
Thats exactly what would happen if any of these CCNs got into circulation. |

Nope, actually, it happens to major comapnies all the time. And...you know what people get? NOTHING !!!!
Do what I do.....contact your credit card comapny and tell them you want another account, with their smallest available balance (my Citibank is at $400) Thats the only card I use for all my online crap. For beginners, you are only responsible for the 1st $50 if someone DOES manage to steal your info. However....you cant do much damage to a $400 limit, versus my main card which has a $30K limit. Sure, I might not be responsible for more then the 1st $50, but Id have an awful lot of phone calls to make if that one got ripped off. |

no not really. if you use your credit card online at all youre bound to end up memorizing it. and how many times do you ever really read your drivers license #?
so if i bought a game through steam, that means that my cc # might be compromised? just confused cause i dont know what the cafe thing is. |

Cybercafe's are simply coffee shops with computer access that you pay for. Bring your laptop to one or use one of their machines and you're charged for the bandwidth.
That said...unless you've visited one of these places, you'll more than likely be okay. At least 40 online entities have my CC info...not counting other actual stores and banks. If they're gonna get ya...there's many ways to do it. This is unfortunately, just another one of many events like it. Sad. |
