Doesn't have that much to do with being a Doctor. It just means that when he starts up when he is actually deployed he will start at a higher rank than normal officer out of ADFA.
80,000 isn't actually that high for a start-up officer salary.
Audhumla, the USD has slipped a huge amount recently compared to the AUD. Every AUD is woth $0.85USD at the moment. So his salary is about $68,000 USD. |

| Damn, I remember it was .75 not too long ago, when a kid I sort of know took second place in a HUGE poker tournament over there, and got $1,000,000 AUD, which was only $750,000 USD before taxes |

| The doctor would probably be commissioned as an O2 in our Military which gets about 3000 a month... but he probably doesnt have to spend it on anything...not to mention he gets all his extra monthly bonuses (like he'd probably get an extra 1000 a month just because he's a doctor) |
