Well I was reading up on tf2 since I haven't taken the time to do much of anything on the computer lately, I found this in a section of an IGN review.
Pyros can be equally devastating, since their flamethrower incinerates enemies in seconds provided the range is short enough. Anywhere beyond a few feet and these guys are actually more effective with shotguns, as strange as that sounds. Because of their limited range, it is a supremely bad idea to rush across open spaces with a solitary Pyro. In close combat, which takes place frequently based on what we saw, these guys trounce pretty much anyone they come across.
Now who said pyros suck? BTW, when I'm the one every clan needs out there, you guys are gunna be sorry!  |

But yah, Pyro's will actually be worth a damn.
too bad about the 'no normal grenades' though... |
