I never did introduce myself here in the forums. I lurk more than I post. I want to thank Chips and all the players for providing me with so many good times.
I’m an “older” regular who plays for team win. I will happily DM anybody who claims this game is only for kids. I’ll probably lose, but I’m used to getting fragged a lot. (Life is so much simpler when you don’t sweat the stats.)
I have no real native class, tending to play whatever I think helps my team the most. These days that usually means playing O. So many pub players seem to love their stats and play mostly D. But I will defer to “real” O players if enough of them happen to be on my team.
I like complicated things. Writing software (my profession), strategy games, science, philosophy, women. I love the depth of TFC. After years of playing there is still plenty to learn. I have an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Systems Design. Most of my work has been on government research projects. (Major science geek.)
My main hobby is driving at autocross and track-day events. I used to be into motorcycles, but after one really bad crackup I no longer use a bike as a daily driver. Too many distracted civilians ready to turn left in front of you. (If you ride, please wear a helmet. Mine really did save my life. It was actually cracked open in the crash.)
My strange name is based on the car number I’ve used for years. I used to host a “Kar 6” website with autox photos, but now I help run the autocross events and I’m too busy driving, working and helping novices to take many pictures.
So… Hello and What question can I answer for you???

I wont lie, that made me chuckle.
I'd give my default greeting but you've been here to long for it to be of any use by now. |

I'm further south, down in San Antonio. Mexican food, lots of Spanish, and a crazy number of military bases for a single city. About all we don't have here is a road race track. Have to drive to Dallas (you have 2) or Houston (also has 2) for those. |

Cool, I lived in San Antonio for a little while. My whole family is either there or Houston. We have a few more than 2 tracks around here. And a really nice new one is being built. I ran Motorsport Ranch a few times on my 636, very nice track. |

Yay! A Ksix thread! I was looking for your thread a few weeks ago, but couldn't find 'cause it wasn't there. But it is now! |

What kind of mods are you running on your car there K6?
I notice that you've got slicks on the car so you must have done something under the bonnet there too. A close friend of mine has an 89 MX5. We recently took it out on the Eastern Creek circuit here in sydney. Was a good day, he was catching 911s around the twisty bits of the circuit, very nicely set-up car. |

I hope to supercharge the car at some point, but the motor is stock right now. SCCA rules don't allow engine mods in stock classes, so its all suspension and brake work at the moment.
It IS fun to catch "faster" cars on road courses. Nothing bothers a Mustang driver more than being passed by a Miata, CRX or a Mini-Cooper. Its the car equivalent of the crow-bar kill or bringing down an HW with the Scout nail gun. |

I noticed philosophy as an interest and your quote is Taoist. Do you practice the way? |
