I've got quite a strange problem. For some reason I don't know why, my Tfc started crashing in Opengl render, it used to only happen every now and then but then it got worse, and continued getting worse. Skipping a long story of failures to fix it here is where I am now, D3D 16 bit 600 x 480.
I know this has happened to quite a few people with ATI cards because I used to get an error in source and googled it, however I no longer get the error in source and I forget what the error was. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Things I've tried:
Updating Drivers
Removing Drivers
Reinstalling Drivers
Changing the screen resolution (worked for a short time)
Changing the color detail (worked for a very short time)

check your graphics card settings, change the opengl settings (if avaliable) and try different settings, see if that works. i had the same error a few years back, i think i just reinstalled TFC to fix it. just make sure to back up your maps and such if you do follow that path.

Try more searches on the Interweb. You just have to find the right combination of search criteria, but your answer is ALWAYS out there. Just a matter of finding it.

Try DXDiag yet?
Click on START/RUN then in the box, type dxdiag It will run a system check on your vid and sound hardware and report back any probs it sees......drivers, hardware, etc. Best of all, its FREE !!! Smile

And DirectX will report OpenGL problems how?

Try using an older ATi driver.
