I've got quite a strange problem. For some reason I don't know why, my Tfc started crashing in Opengl render, it used to only happen every now and then but then it got worse, and continued getting worse. Skipping a long story of failures to fix it here is where I am now, D3D 16 bit 600 x 480.
I know this has happened to quite a few people with ATI cards because I used to get an error in source and googled it, however I no longer get the error in source and I forget what the error was. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Things I've tried:
Updating Drivers
Removing Drivers
Reinstalling Drivers
Changing the screen resolution (worked for a short time)
Changing the color detail (worked for a very short time) |

check your graphics card settings, change the opengl settings (if avaliable) and try different settings, see if that works. i had the same error a few years back, i think i just reinstalled TFC to fix it. just make sure to back up your maps and such if you do follow that path. |

Try more searches on the Interweb. You just have to find the right combination of search criteria, but your answer is ALWAYS out there. Just a matter of finding it. |

Try DXDiag yet?
Click on START/RUN then in the box, type dxdiag It will run a system check on your vid and sound hardware and report back any probs it sees......drivers, hardware, etc. Best of all, its FREE !!! |

And DirectX will report OpenGL problems how?
Try using an older ATi driver. |
