I just got back from the midnight showing and all I can say is WOW. This is easily the greatest movie I've seen all year, probably in 10 years.
Extremely well done, and the acting is incredible. Ledger pulls off the joker far better than I could have imagined. Definitely makes him into a truly terrifying character.
I highly recommend seeing this movie 10/10 |

I saw it at midnight too, it was brilliant. Ledger's performance is certainly Oscar-worthy, and I agree with Roeper and will go as far to say that it deserves a best picture nomination. However, I don't think it's one of the best movies in the last 10 years bird. Certainly the best of 2008 so far though. |

Insanely good movie. I don't think anyone will ever pull off the Joker again the way Ledger did, and I certainly feel bad if anyone ever tries again.
It felt the most realistic of any of the batman movies too - which really made it better I thought. |

I've tried to see it at the Metreon IMAX, in the city, twice. It's sold out until Sunday. I've seen the movie at a regular theatre, but the AC was out, I was too close to the screen(the theatre had filled up, and only front seats were left), and there were lots of loud people from Oakland talking/yelling while the movie was playing. I'm not trying to be racist, but it is a cultural phenomenon that many african-americans enjoy talking loudly while a movie is playing. I wish I understood why. I also wish that it wouldn't happen. I've been to more than a few movies that have been ruined due to overly loud and obnoxious, rude folks talking as if there were no other people in the theater. I wanna say something to those people talking, but it would only make it worse. sigh
Anyway, I will eventually be watching The Dark knight at the Metreon IMAX. |

Yeah......LOL. Even on BART they love hollerin' all over the friggin place like they're the only ones that are important, no real sense of decency or integrity. It's crazy in the bay.Oh yeah to stay on topic, Batman rules! I will say that on opening night for a movie theater that's packed is chaos. Theres always people being noisy because the theater is so full and everyone's friends and their friends are there. Once the movie starts it usually dies down. It sucks you can't talk to people like that without the offending party starting s**t with you just because you want it quiet. I feel for you nuck. |

Overhyped. The only thing that made it any good was the actor that played Two-Face. I think he did an amazing job. |

Then...I don't either.
Just saw it this afternoon with the family. I agree with CC...waaaaaay over-hyped. Ledger was very good...not great or approaching Oscar material. Bale's Batman doesn't sound the same as the first one he did. He constantly looks like he has to sneeze (his overall facial expression) and that voice he uses to portray the Bat...we'll, it's hideous. Sounds like someone's grandpa after chugging a shot of JD.
Many of the secondary actors (Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman) parts were performed as well as or better than Bale for sure. I thought his overall performance was lackluster. Ledger does give the best overall performance...again, nothing like what I expected based on the hype.
Overall, very good movie. I'll wait for the DvD to see it again.
