It crashes right when it's about to enter the game. When it's finished loading. Crashes right to desktop. I've tried going to steampowered.com and reading the FAQ but they never answer the question.
Faulty tfc.dll? liblist.gam? tempdecal.wad? |

Those bots will never be on the server nor care about the server's running. |

Delete or rename your clientregistry.blob file and connect to steam again...see if that helps. |

Is there an error message? That happens to me when I select a video mode that my video card cannot handle. |

No error message. It acts like it's going to go onto the server and then when the loading bar is done and goes away, the screen goes black for like 1 second and then shuts down to my desktop. |

I almost have to agree with Spidey...the only time I've ever seen that (and I have) is when a video mode is selected that your set-up doesn't like.
I'm not even sure of the selections since I've always run it in opengl. Isn't there a software and D3D mode also. Try changing it...just open tfc WITHOUT connecting to a server. That should give you the opportunity to change it. If not...you can adda switch to the shortcut that starts tfc to change it.
A good bit of info that almost anyone will tell ya...try to run the game in the same resolution that your desktop is set to. Ie...run both at 1024 X 768. See if either of these help. |

1.)Does it work on some servers but not on others
2.) Do you have the beta for IE 6 i think it is.
If both is yes then remove the IE 6 beta, it seems to crash servers that download from external sources and not from the server itself. I found this when i tried the beta and removing it solved the problems. |

No. Actaully, chips problem solved it. I have an ATI card which probably works better with software or the other selection other than openGL
I couldnt get on any servers anyways. Thanks for that help, though. Mind helping me with this though?
remember, me lagging like hell? Well, it's happening still. Fix it. Now. <3 |

uhh, make sure all your rates are set up correctly? Otherwise it's probably not a steam problem.
Also, make sure you go to settings for steam and set your internet connection to >1 |
