Hahaha, that's hillarious. I hope she wins.
Reminds me of when I read about some guy that used to work for the record label that produces Metallica's CDs... He was the CMO of the company, and he wrote a book about what he's noticed in terms of profit sales. Even with the billions of downloads a day, he didn't see even a 0.1% change in profits for the whole year... Yet they make it sound like they are loosing over 15.0% a year... |

rant time ^_^
IMHO the words/phrases/acronyms "RIAA", music industry, artist(s) are bs.
media(audio/video, not tv/paper news) creators or "artists" shouldnt expect ANYTHING for what they make except that people may enjoy what they make and share with friends. this sharing with friends can make the artist better known and earn money in a donations-like way "hey i like the music you made, i want to give you money!".
now what i feel riaa really does is claim to be the artists friends and attack the artist's customers claiming that sharing is not good, hurting the fanbase and donations-like income. do the artists really see any of the money that riaa sucks out of the customers?
(too long, didnt read? see below)
riaa is a scam and media artists need real jobs. |

has countersued the RIAA for Oregon RICO violations, fraud, invasion of privacy, abuse of process, electronic trespass, violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, negligent misrepresentation. She is claiming hurt feelings and "outrage", and deceptive business practices.
Since there's also
The Settlement Support Center threatened that if Andersen did not immediately pay them, the record companies would bring an expensive and disruptive federal lawsuit using her name and they would get a judgment for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
seems as if extortion could be added to that list... |
